About Our Practice
Our mission is to be a steady guide as you navigate the complex landscape of relationships and personal growth. Whether you're facing rough waters in a partnership or searching for the pieces to heal and reconnect with yourself, we offer a space where you can find clarity and support. Through personalized therapy, we help you rebuild your foundation, creating a solid ground from which to grow. We honor each person’s individuality, embracing the diversity of experiences that make us all unique. With empathy as our compass, we encourage honest conversations, self-awareness, and accountability. Together, we’ll help you overcome obstacles, strengthen your connections, and cultivate relationships that are rich, resilient, and deeply fulfilling—starting with the relationship you nurture within yourself.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and founder of The Connection Nook, a nurturing space for growth and authentic connection. I specialize in working with individuals and couples to foster deeper emotional understanding and fulfilling relationships.
My Approach
Using a blend of Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychoeducation, and the Gottman Method, I help you:
Gain new perspectives
Heal emotional wounds
Build lasting change
Each session balances warmth, clarity, and directness, rooted in empathy and respect for your unique experiences. I guide you through reframing your narrative, deepening connections, and developing practical tools for effective communication. About The Therapist
Gonzalo Sanchez
I am Gonzalo Sanchez, a bilingual therapist with a master’s degree in psychotherapy and over 15 years of clinical experience. After establishing my practice in Mexico in 2008, I moved to Chicago in 2019, where I have since dedicated my work to community mental health.
My Approach
My clinical philosophy is grounded in the belief that the person should be at the center of their own recovery. Over time, I have evolved my Existential-Humanistic practice to integrate:
Family Systems Theory: Understanding the invisible threads and dynamics that connect us to our history and loved ones.
Trauma-Informed Care: Building a foundation of safety and stabilization to process past wounds.
Cultural Sensitivity: Honoring the unique nuances, language, and background that shape your identity.
I describe my style as warm and creative, yet intentionally directive when needed. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can explore the choices that have shaped your path. Together, we will work toward a deeper understanding of your growth, helping you "be and become" your truest self for your own well-being and for those you love.
